Oh Duma… يا دوما

في نهاية شهر حزيران من العام ٢٠١٢ حشد النظام السوري قواته من حول مدينة دوما بالقرب من دمشق تمهيدا لإقتحامها. وتحضيرا منه لدخوله المدينة المحاصرة ورغبة منه في تفريغها من السكان فقد إرتكب على أطرافها مجزرة بحق عدة عوائل وأجبر الناجين منهم على حمل جثث أقربائهم والدخول بها الى وسط المدينة. الامر الذي أدى لبث الرعب في قلوب المتبقين من السكان وأجبرهم على الهروب من المدينةقام أحد مصورو مدينة دوما بتوثيق المجزرة وتحضيرات الأهالي لتجميع الجثث تمهيدا لدفنها. كما قام بعد إنتهاء الحملة وخروج الجيش من المدينة بتصوير الاضرار التي خلفها القصف واجتياح الجيش لمدينته ووثق عودة الأهالي الى بيوتهم ومدينتهمالفكرة من هذا الفيلم كانت محاولة نقل معنى اجتياح واستباحة مدينة سورية على يد الجيش السوريAt the end of June 2012, the Syrian regime mobilized its forces around the city of Duma near Damascus in the aim of storming the city and eradicating all anti-regime fighters. In order to be able to penetrate the city, the regime forces chose a strategy that consisted of committing massacres on the peripheries of the city against innocent, unarmed families while leaving behind a survivor in each family who would be forced to carry the bodies of their relatives to the centre of the city. Thus, the remaining residents of Douma were frightened to death and fled the city which gave the regime forces an easy access to the city without getting inflicted heavy losses in fights with the rebel's Free Syrian Army.A citizen journalist from Douma's documented the terrible results of these massacres and the collection of the bodies for the funerals by the remaining family members. In addition to the human catastrophe, this young activist also filmed the destruction and devastation that the regime's shelling and invasion had left behind in the city. In turn, the residents would not give up their city and return to their homes even after these terrible deadly events, determined more than ever to defend their city. This film is an attempt to convey the implications of invading and seizing a city by the regime army, but also to tell a story about the determination and steadfastness of the Syrian people and their uprising.
