Dawlaty is looking for the following candidate(s) to join the team:
full time (Social) Media Officer and Content Creator
Summary of the Position(s)/Scope of Work:
The Media Officer supports the program functions of the organization, including in the development of multi-media materials, as well as managing the social media outreach of the organization. In addition, this position is responsible for overall communication of Dawlaty.
Lead the production of education, advocacy and outreach products (videos, reports, infographics) to achieve program and organizational objectives, while upholding Dawlaty’s values; following up on design and publishing of materials in cooperation with program team.
Manage Dawlaty’s social media accounts, including identifying materials and responding to and managing communications through such accounts. And ensure implementation of Dawlaty’s social media policies; Produce monthly reports on reach and use of Dawlaty’s social media presence.
Provide support and capacity building to Dawlaty’s team and partners on communication.
Promote a better understanding of Dawlaty mandate and field of work by carrying out media, information and education activities, including prepare and publish quarterly newsletter for Dawlaty, Annual reports and updating Dawlaty’s website content and design.
Communicate with Syrian, regional and international media
Update and implement social media activities according to Dawlaty’s Communication Strategy and Annual Plans.
Manage all Social Media accounts including Dawlaty’s two websites, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram;
Organize media outreach as well as updating Dawlaty’s outreach strategy;
Update Dawlaty’s websites with news projects, initiatives and publications by adding new content;
Regularly measure and report on the performance of media activities based on a set of pre-defined indicators.
Remain updated on all projects and liaise with head of departments on any updates;
Content Creation Tasks:
Transform research-based content into an engaging language and for several platforms.
Draft communication material for weekly social media posts, periodical newsletters, publications, videos and other outputs;
Coordinate the production of a diverse range of audio-visual material in collaboration with other departments;
Remain updated on all projects and liaise with project-leads;
Qualifications & Experience:
Master the functionality and features of a variety of social media platforms, including (and not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram…
Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media and managing online content.
Knowledge in web development is a plus.
Interest and knowledge in campaigning and advocating for social issues
Imaginative and strategic
Skillful in the Arabic and English language
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
Very good time management skills, proactive
Content Creation Tasks:
Interest in reading long research outputs.
Able to reformulate academic research material into accessible language.
Able to manage content and conceptualize communication outputs.
Contextual and experimental in visual and textual communication.
Eager to learn and open to new working approaches
Good communication skills and driven extensively by curiosity

Strong patience and problem-solving skills
Independently managing time and realistic planner
Natural Storytelling ability and passion
Interest and involvement in Syrian literature, art and social media trends is a great advantage
